Founded in 1987, the International Diatomite Producers Association (IDPA) is a trade association representing major manufacturers of diatomaceous earth products worldwide.

IDPA is a non-profit association managed by the Industrial Minerals Association North America (IMA-NA) and IMA-Europe, whose members cooperate on the safe use of diatomaceous earth products and to advance research and maintain a dialogue with industry, legislators, regulatory agencies and the scientific community in support of the safety of our employees, our customers, and the communities we serve.

Membership in IDPA is open to any company producing: diatomaceous earth products worldwide. As a member of IMA-Europe and IMA-North America, the members benefit from a broad representation and a strong voice at the EU and international level and synergy of issues common to the industrial minerals sector.

Diatomite

Diatomite is the naturally occurring fossilized remains of diatoms, and the mineral is found in thousands of products used everyday. Diatomite improves crops, stabilizes explosives, absorbs hazardous materials, serves as a filler in plastics and paints, adds strength to construction materials, filters impurities, and lends abrasion to cleaning and polishing products.
